Someone likes it metal. New range of buttons is bursting with industrial colours
Leading European relay manufacturer, ELKO EP from Holešov, presents a brand new range of metal switches. The MSB3 series will especially please fans of industrial design, as it offers several stylish metal finishes.
You can make your home or office look antique copper, satin brass, brushed silver or graphite black. Of course – it’s not just about looks. The switches have also been improved technologically, because it is the development of new products that has long underpinned the success of the company, which employs almost three hundred people and exports its electronic devices, relays and intelligent wiring systems to more than 70 countries.
The MSB3 series offers the possibility to set a different function for each button using the intuitive iDM3 software, and to change it as required. “The button range is equipped with an integrated temperature sensor and also includes a range of analogue or digital inputs for connecting external devices. Users can easily personalise the functions of the buttons – or use a single button to control multiple appliances. Without having to be a tech toy, they can move step by step towards gradual home or office automation,” explains Jiří Konečný, owner and founder of the company.
They can then choose from versions with four buttons (MSB3-40), six buttons (MSB3-60) or nine buttons (MSB3-90). The entire range then allows for easy integration into existing setups. All versions adhere to the standard module size of 94×94 millimeters.
The main novelty, however, is the design, which has been intensively worked on in recent months in Holešov. Recently, ELKO EP joined forces with Astrum, Turkey’s largest manufacturer of touch panels, and established a joint venture, Inspinia Technology, to manufacture and further develop these devices.
“We see that a lot of new construction is really only working with a few basic materials. Wood, metal, glass or concrete. It is then in these projects that they also demand the most ‘raw’ look of the accessories in the long term. We have worked with glass or wood before, but metal finishes have long been missing from our portfolio. Among other reasons, we had to be sure that the appearance would not limit the functionality of the touch elements. Now we know that technologically and design-wise everything is really tuned to our expectations,” concludes Jiří Konečný.
